Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Prof. Dr. El-Saeed Abdel Hady, University President; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aal, Vice President for Community Outreach and Environmental Development; and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahim El-Shahat, Vice President for International Agreements and Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Dr. Sherif Youssef El-Nagdy, Vice Dean for Community Outreach and Environmental Development. The Faculty of Dentistry, Horus University, made a medical convoy to the Family Medicine Unit to inspect the cypress at the Farskor Health Department of the Directorate of Health Affairs in Damietta on Tuesday, 11-11-2025
The convoy was received by Dr. Mohamed Al-Sibai, Director of the Dental Department at the Directorate of Health Affairs in Damietta, Dr. Shaima Emad, Director of the Unit, and Dr. May Al-Ghandour, Head of the Department of Dental Medicine and Surgery at the Health Unit

65 patients with different ages ranging from 4 years to 70 years were examined and calculus deposits were removed and gum treatment was done for 8 patients, in addition to surgical extraction for 6 patients, and all patients were diagnosed between cases requiring filling, root canal treatment and diagnostic radiology, with appointments to complete the treatment in consecutive visits to the dental clinics at the Faculty of Dentistry, Horus University
The participants in the convoy educated patients on how to maintain oral and dental health in the proper hygienic ways, with the distribution of toothpastes and awareness leaflets to raise awareness of the use of brushes and pastes in the proper way, and to know the resulting and possible damages in case of not using the proper methods to take care of oral and dental health, as well as educating mothers on how to take care of their children’s milk teeth when they appear
A questionnaire was also conducted by the patients receiving treatment to find out their opinion on the service provided by the medical convoy and the performance of the participating doctors to analyze this questionnaire to make possible improvements in the future medical convoys
In the end, the patients and the doctors of the health unit expressed their gratitude for the outstanding performance of everyone who participated in the convoy and wished to repeat such distinguished medical convoys
